What time does the NASCAR race start today? TV schedule, channel for 2023 Atlanta race

NASCAR is riding a high after last week’s dramatic conclusion to the Grant Park 220.

Early on, it seemed as if everything that could go wrong for NASCAR did. Rain flooded the track and delayed the start of Sunday’s Race. NASCAR was about 15 minutes away from postponing the race to Monday, which would have been disastrous for an event billed as one of NASCAR’s most ambitious in recent memory.

The weather cleared in time and fans got one of the best races of the year. Shane van Gisbergen shocked the world and captured the win in his first NASCAR start. The race was challenging, but not impossible. And most fans — both those in Chicago and watching around the country — were left satisfied.

So what does NASCAR have in store next? A pilgrimage to Atlanta and another chance to enliven a major metropolitan audience. Given the popularity of last week’s race, don’t be surprised to see the masses hoping for yet another barnburner. The protagonist might be different this time around, but the storylines — of triumph and heartbreak and anger and despair — those are commonplace in the world of stock car racing. It’s why fans love the sport.
