Southwell betting tips

2.15: Al Zaraqaan 11/10 (NAP)

Won on chase debut just over two weeks ago for trainer Sam England and has proved a horse that loves to win, with a fine record on the flat, hurdling and now looks to take on the fences just as well.

That was an impressive win first time over fences too and although there was a lack of fluency it just shows with more experience he may be able to progress even further, boosted by the fact he won going away and should win nicely if dictating things as he’s clearly got the stamina.

Stepney Causeway is probably the biggest danger in this field of three but hasn’t got off the mark in ten attempts over fences and is hard to back over the favourite.

Lingfield betting tips

3.30: Zachary 8/1

A nice each-way play for a horse owned by the syndicate Owners Group and has a very strong chance in the hands of Franny Norton for in-form trainer Charlie Johnston.

This yard doesn’t often send horses out on the all-weather at two-years-old, but when they do you should take note as from just six runners they’ve had four wins and two places!

Which is not only more wins than their record on the turf with two-year-olds but also pays out a +21.95 profit to a £1 level stake.

This horse raced too freely on debut in a Class 4 but this looks like it could be easier with that experience under his belt – especially as his pedigree suggests he’ll go well here.

Roscommon betting tips

5.13: Stealthy Tom 4/1

second at Punchestown in April over 4m2f before winning by a nose at Killarney in May over 2m4f.

Upped in the ratings by 8lb but this eight-year-old by Yeats could have more to offer particularly back up in trip.

Only carries 10-0 due to the top-weighted Hurricane Georgie and he’s set to make the most of that given the rest of the field’s recent lack of form.

Windsor betting tips

8.10: Love You Grandpa 6/1

Interesting runner for Sir Michael Stoute with Richard Kingscote on board.

This four-year-old is lightly raced with only three runs to her name having last been seen in June last year finishing second behind Croachill.

That form works out well at this level but as a filly by Frankel it wouldn’t be a surprise to see her take a bigger step forward off a break and upped close to 1m4f.

Owned by King Power Racing, she’s had three different jockeys on board in each of her races; Ryan Moore, Shane Kelly and Jim Crowley – now the 2022 Derby winner.

Pontefract betting tips

7.00: La Pulga 7/2

Looks far the far better horse in this at a more than tempting price.

Jockey Joe Fanning has been storming home plenty of times recently with a 30% strike-rate and this Kodiac gelding took a huge step forward at Hamilton last time out winning by over four lengths and looks capable of adding to his impressive tally.

Takes 1f off from that win but did well at the same course in May to finish a close 1 length off in a Class 3.

He’s also got nice three-year-old form to boot when with trainer Harry & Roger Charlton, including a third place at 16/1 behind Sir Rumi, who is of course now rated 94.
