2 Celestial Legend (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) looks like he has the engine under the hood to measure up against these. He debuted at the midweeks at Canterbury where he got back to near last in the run and took a while to wind into his work but once he did, I thought he found the line really well late in the piece behind Kandinsky Abstract. Like him on the bigger track and dangerous if he can settle closer.

Danger

1 Namesake (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has done little wrong in a two start career for Maher/Eustace and is one of the key chances. Strong debut winner at Warwick Farm before going to Gosford two weeks ago and found the line well enough but was no match late for a nice horse, Chrysaor. He’s the one that is hard fit/in form and is one of the hardest to beat if he holds his form.

Long Shot

8 Griff (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is a colt I do have time for. He was kept safe in betting when debuting at Gosford in March and I thought did a credible job in defeat from off the speed behind Zardozi, who I think is a Group l winner in waiting, so I am trusting that form, and his trial to get ready for the return was a lovely piece of work. Keen to see how he resumes, so watch the market.

Race 2. (11:35) Midway (Bm72) 1400m

Back Me

1 Kyeema (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) looks like he will be winning races down under. Former UK galloper that made his Australian debut for Sara Ryan three weeks ago on testing ground here and was a real eye catcher from near last when a closing fourth to noted swimmer Cruel Summer. Like him up in trip, he can settle closer and on firmer footing, he’ll take beating I’d suggest.

Danger

13 Diamond Diesel (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is knocking on the door to win. He’s placed in all three runs for Adam Duggan this time in. Latest run came in the Midway at Gosford two weeks ago and I thought found the line well after getting held up early behind the above average Turning. Hard fit now and IMO the rise to 1400m is ideal. Clear air, he’ll be hard to hold out.

Long Shot

10 Tympanist (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is a handy gelding for David Payne that resumes. He hasn’t raced since March 1 at Warwick Farm over 2110m when down the track behind Kirkeby. He is a horse who can sprint well fresh and his recent trial was a decent piece of work for a horse better suited over further. Likely spots them a start but will be stronger than most late, and has home track advantage.

Race 3. (12:10) Tab Highway Hcp (C3) 1200m

Back Me

2 Dollar Magic (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has to lump a decent weight for a mare but she has proven to be a good weight carrier so I am happy to be in her corner. Ran a ripping race in the Highway at Hawkesbury four weeks ago before going to Dubbo where she looked a moral on paper and duly saluted, running good time. Lands on speed here and she’ll take running down I am sure.

Danger

15 Deni Gal (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is capable. Thought she did more than enough two back in a solid race at Newcastle before going to Gosford a week later where she was held up and forced wide on the turn but picked up and was pretty good to the line without threatening behind Remlaps Commander. Genuine mare who can settle closer and still be effective late.

Long Shot

3 Blow Dart (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is bursting to win a Highway for Brett Thompson. He ran in the Highway at Gosford two weeks back when near the speed and doing work. He was entitled to knock up but he kept chipping away when third to Remlaps Commander. Not sure I could back him to win but is one for multiple I’d suggest.

Race 4. (12:45) Tab (Bm78) 1200m

Back Me

8 Mars Mission (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is getting close to D-Day for Team Hawkes. He has teased to be a good horse but his winning strike rate isn’t too flash. He was kept safe in betting at Gosford a fortnight back and was good without being super, getting back and making up minor headway without threatening behind Flag Of Honour. Back on the home track, he gets one last look.

Danger

4 Conrad (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is a horse with good talent and can measure up against these. Loved his win at the midweeks at Canterbury. He did work to find the front and was there to be run down but he found under pressure to fend them off and get the win narrowly but impressively. More depth here, but has a good racing style and will look the winner for a fair way.

Long Shot

7 Robusto (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has come back in good order and is one of the key chances. Just one soft trial leading into his resumption at Gosford two weeks back where he got back in the run and was never really a threat but really liked the way he found the line late behind Flag Of Honour. Has the potential to settle much closer in the run and be strong at the end.

Race 5. (13:20) The Agency Real Estate (Bm72) 2000m

Imagine what you could be buying instead.

Back Me

4 Starianne (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is on top. Busuttin/Young trained filly that is a few weeks between runs since contesting the SA Oaks where she was very good from the back behind a quality filly, Affaire A Suivre. This is a significant drop in depth for her, she can sit closer in the run from the gate and still be effective at the end. She’ll do me in an open race.

Danger

6 Domingo (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) should appreciate a rise to 2000m. He was down the track in the ATC Derby before going to 1900m at Canterbury where he ran his race in patches and was quite one paced in the run to the line when third to Storm King, who is very much in form. Up in trip and back to his own age, he has the runs on the board to command respect.

Long Shot

2 Tradition (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness for James Cummings. He ran at the midweeks at Canterbury last start where he had the suck run in behind and tried hard but didn’t quite have the change up speed to win when third to Asgoodassobergets. Hard fit now and up to a more ideal trip, he can take this out.

Race 6. (13:55) Toyota Forklifts (Bm72) 1500m

Imagine what you could be buying instead.

Back Me

5 Rediener (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is racing in super form at the moment. Rawiller was asleep at the wheel on him two weeks ago at Gosford IMO. He got a mile back and just got left stranded when the leaders kicked. The three year old rocketed to the line late to run third to Token Capitalist. No issue back to 1500m IMO and he has the change up speed to prove hard to hold out, provided he gets a half decent steer.

Danger

3 Peshmerga (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is a former overseas mare for Robert Quinn that looks like she will win races down under and wouldn’t be a total shock if that was the case here. Australian debut came a few weeks back at Rosehill over 1500m when attempting to lead throughout and giving a decent sight but couldn’t quite finish it off when fourth to Money From The Sky. Fitter and on a firmer deck, it all points to her running a positive race.

Long Shot

10 Dream Hour (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) can run an improved race here. First run for Kris Lees came over the mile at Gosford and it was one of many poor rides from Jason Collett from the meeting. He was just far too patient to try and get moving, and didn’t get much room to move late. He showed good quality when with Griffiths/De Kock so don’t dismiss him.

Race 7. (14:30) Vale Ian Finn (Bm78) 2400m

Imagine what you could be buying instead.

Back Me

3 Strawberry Rock (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) might want one more but the return was encouraging enough. That came in the Pretty Amazing race from four weeks back at Hawkesbury and while he was never a threat, I didn’t mind the way he finished his race off, beaten just over three lengths. He might be a third up 2400m horse, but he has the Maher/Eustace polish and good upside.

Danger

2 Outlandos (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is knocking on the door to win and can certainly take this out. He comes through the 2100m Gosford race from a fortnight back and I thought he found the line pretty well from off the speed when fourth to impressive winner Hometruths. He was 2400m back to 2100m so back up in trip now, and on the bigger track, I think he only runs well.

Long Shot

12 Credit Crunch (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is eligible for easier but Matty Smith has her going pretty well. She was specked at a big price when racing two weeks back at Gosford and that specking was justified because she got back in the run and found the line nicely between runners when third to Hometruths. Not sure I could back her to win, but for exotics, I can certainly entertain her.

Race 8. (15:05) Precise Air (Bm88) 1500m

Imagine what you could be buying instead.

Back Me

12 Substantial (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) looks hard to beat getting up to 1500m. Team Snowden trained import that ran a few weeks ago at Eagle Farm over 1400m where he was a bit flat footed when the sprint went on but he ran through the pain barrier and found the line really well when second to Antino. Dominant win over 1584m at York when racing in the UK so the 1500m here is fine and he’s got more upside than most.

Danger

6 Cotehele (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is third up from a break and should just about be at peak fitness. He was just a run when resuming at Randwick behind Tamerlane before going here where he seemingly had his chance from near the speed, beaten just under two lengths by Coal Crusher. The track will be firmer compared to last time and with his best, he is certainly good enough.

Long Shot

7 Logan Street Lion (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has returned in pretty good order and should take beating against these. He was kept safe in betting three weeks ago when resuming here. He got off the speed and took a while to wind into his work but once he did, he launched late, just missing out on the win when a narrow second to Coal Crusher. Better for the run under the belt, he should take beating.

Race 9. (15:45) Lord Mayors Cup 2000m

Imagine what you could be buying instead.

Back Me

13 Thalassophile (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) is racing well for Chris Waller. She was off a decent freshen up when racing in The Coast at Gosford two weeks ago and I thought she was a pass mark in defeat, beaten just over two lengths by impressive winner Palmetto. Has good upside to come and over the last six months, she has become quite genuine. One of the hardest to beat I’d suggest.

Danger

2 Desert Icon (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has to be given another chance for Chris Waller. He was massive in defeat fresh in the Hawkesbury Cup behind stablemate New Mandate. He then went to the Gosford Cup and to the eye, he was on the plain side, but did lose a couple of plates in the run, so he had excuses. If he runs up to the first up effort, gee he’ll take holding out.

Long Shot

5 Lord Ardmore (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has to be given another chance. Chris Waller trained gelding that comes through the Gosford Cup where I would be very forgiving of the run given he was right up the inside and that was the quicksand for the meeting, so forgive and forget behind surprise winner Esti Feny. Think back on the home deck and with the 2100m run under the belt, that should hold him in good stead for this.

Race 10. (16:25) Furphy (Bm78) 1200m

Imagine what you could be buying instead.

Back Me

10 Pretty Wild (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has been a frustrating mare to follow but her best is clearly good enough. Market said she’d struggle on the bog when resuming three weeks back at Rosehill and she ran accordingly, failing to come on when down the track behind Cruel Summer. Think back on firmer footing, she is good enough to deserve another look.

Danger

Fitter and a firmer deck are two big ticks for 16 Anagain (Bet Now:
$SP.00
). Joe Pride trained mare that hasn’t really gone on with it since her 2YO days but Joe Pride, I think, is starting to work her out. Kept safe in betting when resuming on the bog at Rosehill and kept finding the line from off the speed when second to noted swimmer Cruel Summer. Good return and has a strong second up record. Hard to beat.

Long Shot

7 Daralina Belle (Bet Now:
$SP.00
) has come back in really good order for Matty Smith. Did more than enough fresh in a solid race at Hawkesbury behind Delacour before going to Gosford where she got back off the speed and held up at times before eventually getting clear air and finding the line well when third to Flag Of Honour. Hard fit now, honest, genuine…she gets a great chance.
