Library News: Week of May 14, 2023

WORTHINGTON — The Nobles County Library, 407 12th St., Worthington, is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Adrian Branch Library, 214 Maine Ave., Adrian, is open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Free Minnesota State Park passes

The Nobles County Library has free state park passes available for check-out. A pass is good for seven days of free access to all Minnesota state parks and recreation areas.

The basics:

  • A Plum Creek Library System card is required to check the pass out and an adult must pick it up in person.
  • You can make a reservation for a pass up to 90 days in advance.
  • Passes that are not reserved by the end of Thursday become available on a first come, first serve basis.
  • One pass per household at a time and a limit of one reservation every 30 days.
  • A pass is checked out from Wednesday through Tuesday and is not renewable.

Participants are responsible for their own ride to and from the library. Please stop by the library or call (507) 295-5340 to sign up your children.

Tuesday, May 16: After-School Program (Grades K-5), until 4:45 p.m.

Wednesday, May 17: Story Time (toddlers and preschoolers), 10 to 11 a.m.; Just Gurlz (for girls in grades 5-9) after school until 4:45 p.m.

Thursday, May 18: After-School Program (Grades K-5), until 4:45 p.m.

Monday, May 22: Wii for students in Grades 5-9 after school until 4:45 p.m.

Tuesday, May 23: After-School Program (Grades K-5), until 4:45 p.m.

Wednesday, May 24: Story Time (toddlers and preschoolers), 10 to 11 a.m.; Just Gurlz (for girls in grades 5-9) after school until 4:45 p.m.

Thursday, May 25: After-School Program (Grades K-5), until 4:45 p.m.

Frank Weber: Author/forensic psychologist will speak from 4 to 6 p.m. June 27, answer questions, sign and sell his books, discuss the latest forensic tools and perform a live demonstration of a lie detector test. From 6 to 7 p.m.,Frank will speak about his latest book.
