$SP.00) will do me in an open race to start the meeting. Peter Moody trained mare that resumes. She hasn’t raced since New Years Eve at The Valley when doing a bit of work in the run from the gate but was moving with purpose and ended up being too good for them. Decent break between runs but her two jumpouts have been more than encouraging and strikes a winnable race.

9 Niccolite (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) has solid enough form around her to command respect here for Grahame Begg. Strong third two back at Caulfield behind Viviane before going to the midweeks at Sandown where she got too far back in the run but really liked the way she finished her race off behind Neverstandingstill. If she is within range, she is good enough to threaten.

5 Far Enough (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) deserve a crack in town. Dale Short has this guy flying at the moment, albeit his last two starts/wins have come on the Pakenham Synthetic. Both wins have seen him attack the line with purpose to win impressively. The depth here is much stronger than what he has been beating, but he’s found form, so don’t dismiss him.

11 Abbadon (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. Dean Krongold trained gelding that doesn’t have the best of racing patterns but can let down with a big finale. He gave them a start and a beating two back at Moe before going to Sale when back near last in the run and made up headway without threatening behind Miss Take. Inside gate, hopefully can be just off them, within range and launch late.

3 Rockribbed (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) has run well down the straight before when with Maher/Eustace and that straight track experience should hold him in good stead here. First run for Aaron Laing came here three weeks ago where he paraded like he would need the run and that’s how it panned out behind impressive Najem Suhail. Good second up record and back miles in grade/depth, he is a big improver.

8 In Her Stride (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a John Salanitri trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since April 8 when racing over 1200m at Sandown and seemingly had every chance behind the speed but couldn’t quite finish it off behind Lafargue. She is a mare who can sprint well fresh and strikes a very winnable race so watch the market.

All you can do is win and that is what 6 Warlords (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) has done in one start. The debut win was at Sale and while he probably didn’t beat a great deal, he got better as the race went on and drew clear late for a dominant win. That was at 1200m and off that effort, 1400m should be ideal, and with enormous upside, rates highly.

2 Flying Concello (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) has done little wrong in a three start career and is one of the leading contenders. She has won her past two, winning two back over 1000m at Bendigo in a maiden before going to 1300m at Sandown where she got a lovely sit just off the speed before angling into clear air and in a driving finish, she got the job done. She has that 1300m run under the belt, which should hold her in good stead for this assignment.

5 Orion The Hunter (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is racing like he will appreciate 1400m. Shane Nicholls trained colt that comes through the Ouroboros race from two weeks back at Caulfield. He was held up at times in the straight but when eventually clear, he found the line well enough behind the Price/Kent runner. Being out of former top mare I Am A Star, 1400m is fine and maps ideally.

$SP.00) has found winning form and she can certainly go on with it. Chris Waller trained mare that is a few weeks between runs since racing over 1400m at Randwick when giving them a start and a beating, launching late to nab Anagain on the peg. Now off a win, she rates as one of the leading contenders.

8 Hell Hound (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) has been up a while for Price/Kent but is holding her form pretty well and strikes a winnable Mares race here. She got a beaut run in transit two weeks ago at this track/distance under Beau Mertens and in a driving go, she was able to finish best. I do think the end of 1400m is her query, but with a soft trip like last time, it’s fine and she’s a leading chance.

3 Good And Proper (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) should love getting back to 1400m so I am not penning her. She was backed with confidence late when racing three weeks back over the mile here but in a race not run to suit her, I thought she worked home quite well behind Delicious Tycoon. Back to 1400m, more genuine tempo, she can easily bounce back against these.

Fitter and up in trip, I think 6 First In Line (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a big improver. He ran three weeks back over 1800m at Randwick where he just found them a bit sharp but was far from disgraced in defeat behind the in form Bold Mac. Tick over trial at Canterbury on Tuesday was pretty good and off his overseas efforts, 2000m+ is his go in life so 2500m here is ideal and is hard to beat IMO.

2 Teewaters (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) was knocking on the door to win a race but kept finding a couple better. That all changed a fortnight back in the VOBIS Gold Stayers where he was given a positive ride by Bates and in what turned out to be a race about momentum, he had it all and was strongest to the line in winning. Now he has a win on the board, he can go on with it.

11 Savvy Valentino (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is in with a shout here given his run three weeks back at Flemington. He was a despised rank outsider given he was a 65 rater in an open handicap but he ran a slashing race in defeat, running third to Mimi’s Award and making up good ground from near last. If he runs up to anywhere near last start, he’ll take beating.

9 Aristonous (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is too good of a horse to dismiss off one below par run. I thought he was a moral when racing a few weeks ago at Caulfield but he just got too far back in the run and was left an impossible task. He had too much to do and did make up good ground behind Thorin. I think he’ll love getting to Flemington and if within range, I think he’ll be too good.

6 Blue Cup (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a contender with his best. He ran in the Thorin race from a few weeks back at Caulfield. He did a bit of early work from the wide gate and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish it off when beaten just over five lengths. The overall form around him reads well and if within range, he’s good enough to threaten.

11 Raise You Ten (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) has to be respected as one of the key threats. He hadn’t raced since November 2021 when resuming over the mile at Sandown behind Flossing and despite that long time off, clearly short of his best trip, I thought he was very good from the back in an excellent return. Might want one more run, but off that effort, I think he has to be given respect here.

4 It’sourtime (Bet Now: $5.00) tends to save his best for the Flemington straight and back to the scene of the crime, he’s right in the mix. He ran two weeks ago in the Bletchingly at Caulfield when back off the speed and found the line strongly without threatening, beaten just over a length by Ingratiating. He loves the Flemington straight and is hard fit, so he appeals, clearly.

8 Dance To Dubai (Bet Now: $15.00) deserves another crack at Stakes grade for Peter Moody. Just found them a bit sharp in a race not run to suit two back behind Mnementh. She went back to benchmark grade, ridden more positively and the end result was an all the way. More depth here but with that forward racing pattern, she is a first four contender for sure.

9 Umgawa (Bet Now: $23.00), I think, will be okay at the 1200m here, and has a bit of quality to give this a shake. He ran over 1400m at Caulfield a few weeks ago when just off the speed and kept on in a game effort when a close up fourth to Ulysses, beaten just over a length. He has run well here previously and being fourth up, he should just about be at peak fitness.

3 Brayden Star (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) looks a straight bat option. Busuttin/Young trained galloper that comes here with fresh legs, five weeks between runs sine racing over 2000m at Rosehill where he was very good in defeat from off the speed but couldn’t quite get there behind the in form Touristic. Fresh legs and back to the mile, he has a bit of quality about him to prove hard to beat here.

8 Vitruvius (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is one of the key chances. Nick Ryan trains this son of Star Witness, that ran over 1700m at Caulfield last time where he got a fair way out of his ground but you had to like the way he finish the race off when a close up fourth to Flash Flood, who won last Saturday to frank the form. Back on the home deck and back to the mile, he appeals.

Long Shot

Good test here for 14 Presser (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) but the way he has come back, he has to be rated as a key chance. He landed good bets when a dominant winner fresh at Geelong before proving that was no fluke when giving them a spanking at the midweeks at Sandown. He’s better than 70 grade. Now jumps to 84 grade but is flying, down in the weights…definite chance.

3 Berkeley Square (Bet Now: $4.50) is one of the more fascinating runners on the program. Dan O’Sullivan trained four year old that resumes, having not raced since the Victoria Derby when not running the 2500m out but was far from disgraced in defeat behind Manzoice. He may need the run, but he has class/quality and a recent jumpout win at Ballarat was very good.

5 Nicolini Vito (Bet Now: $7.00) has a good record down the straight and his best is clearly good enough. Race shape wasn’t suited to him two back here behind Mnementh in the Santa Ana Lane Final. He then went to the Bletchingly two weeks back at Caulfield and was solid from near last on the turn when fourth to Ingratiating. Back to Flemington, he’s dangerous.

7 Regardsmaree (Bet Now: $14.00) should appreciate a rise to 1400m for Nick Ryan. I was keen on him running well at a big price two weeks back in the Bletchingly but like the Monash first up, he just found them a bit sharp but was solid to the line behind Ingratiating. Third up, hard fit, up to 1400m, he’s got the set up to run a much improved race.

$SP.00) good luck beating her if she’s ready to go. Quality mare for Jason Warren that resumes, having not raced since the Sunlight Classic when far from disgraced in defeat but perhaps it was end of prep run behind What You Need. The win prior at this track was dynamic and her recent jumpout was sparkling. If she’s ready to go, she wins.

16 Arbitration (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) is a quality mare for James Cummings that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since March 29 at Warwick Farm when producing an end of prep run on a bog track Audette, struggling to pick her feet up late in the piece. Usually reliable around this level of race and her jumpout work has been quite encouraging so watch the market and see what it does.

13 William Thomas (Bet Now: 
$SP.00) has come back in really good order for John Price. He resumed down the straight here three weeks back where he got back off the speed and took a little while to wind into his work but launched late and was a real eye catcher when third to Najem Suhail. He runs well down the straight…not sure he wins but a first four threat.

BEST BET: Race Ten Number 2 Benedetta

NEXT BEST: Race Six Number 9 Aristonous

LONG SHOT: Race Two Number 11 Abbadon
