The Dallas Morning News’ top 100 high School football recruits list for the class of 2024 is officially here.

The numbers for 2024
A simple breakdown of this year’s top 100 by a few categories.
By position
There are a total of 55 schools represented in this year’s rankings. For reference, there were 61 schools represented in the class of 2023 top 100, and 61 in the class of 2022 top 100.
The schools with the most this year
The top 6A schools: McKinney (5), Lewisville (5), Duncanville (4), DeSoto (4), Southlake Carroll (4), Trophy Club Byron Nelson (4), Denton Guyer (3)
The top 5A schools: South Oak Cliff (5), Lancaster (4), Melissa (3), Lovejoy (3), Mansfield Summit (3)

Shortest player: Six players — Duncanville running back Caden Durham (No. 8), Denton Guyer cornerback Eli Bowen (No. 12), Allen running back Kayvion Sibley (No. 48), Cedar Hill cornerback Alexander Rodgers (No. 52), Trophy Club Byron Nelson cornerback Jonathan Kabeya (No. 75) and Southlake Carroll wide receiver Jacob Jordan (No. 85) — are each listed at 5-foot-9.
Tallest player: Prosper offensive lineman Ellis Davis (No. 24) and Southlake Carroll quarterback Graham Knowles (No. 46) are both listed at 6-foot-7.
Smallest player: Trophy Club Byron Nelson cornerback Jonathan Kabeya (No. 75) is listed at 155 pounds.
Biggest player: Duncanville defensive lineman Alex January (No. 21) is listed at 325 pounds.

Notable
- South Oak Cliff, the back-to-back 5A Div. II state champion, is tied for the most players on the top 100 with five. It led the class of 2023 top 100 with seven recruits, but had just two in the class of 2022 top 100.
- All four of Duncanville’s top 100 recruits are ranked within the top 25: Simmons (No. 1) Durham (No. 8), safety Ka’Davion Dotson (No. 13) and January (No. 21). Don’t be surprised if they’re the early favorite to repeat as the 6A Div. I state champion.
- Speaking of Duncanville: no school has had more top 100 representatives in the last five years than coach Reginald Samples’ program. Duncanville (30 in the last five seasons) has averaged six top 100 recruits per season since the class of 2020; South Oak Cliff (21) and DeSoto (21) are tied for second-most in that span.
- In regards to the above note, Duncanville, South Oak Cliff and DeSoto each won a state championship this season. It takes a lot to win a Texas high school football title — talent, clearly, is one of them.
- Frisco Emerson played its first season of varsity football last year. It already has two top 100 recruits. Quarterback Mike Hawkins Jr., an Allen transfer, is ranked No. 16; wide receiver Kylen Evans is ranked No. 54.
- Boston College signed just two Dallas-area high school football recruits between 2018 and 2023 (Highland Park’s Thomas Shelmire in 2018 and South Grand Prairie’s Jalon Williams in 2021), but has beefed up its efforts in the class of 2024. Three players listed on The News’ top 100 committed to Boston College in June: Lake Dallas wide receiver Keonde Henry (No. 20), Denton Guyer wide receiver Josiah Martin (No. 26) and McKinney cornerback Ashton McShane (No. 71).
