María Antonia de Paz y Figueroa, also known as "Mama Antula," will become Argentina's first Female Saint. Born in 1730, she joined the Jesuits at the age of 15 and collaborated in performing spiritual exercises. Despite the expulsion of the Jesuits from America in 1767, Mama Antula continued her work, even at the risk of imprisonment. Her charity and service to the needy are praised by Pope Francis. Mama Antula's beatification was authorized in 2016, and her canonization will be presided over by Francis at St. Peter's Basilica. The ceremony will bring together the pope and the newly elected president of Argentina, Javier Milei.
