Man drowns in ‘terrible’ Sydney river floatie accident

A 26-year-old man drowned in a River near Campbelltown, Sydney, after a remote-controlled boat collided with his inflatable float. The man, who did not know how to swim, was on a family outing at the Georges River when the accident occurred. Police divers found his body four hours after the incident. The river is a popular swimming spot but is unpatrolled and located in remote bushland. Authorities have issued a warning for weak swimmers to stick to patrolled areas and avoid swimming in unpatrolled waterholes. Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
