Archer Aviation is developing the Midnight, a four-passenger electric-powered vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, to bring Flying Taxis to reality. The company expects tangible progress by 2025 and regulatory approval by the US Federal Aviation Administration. The UAE, supported by Mubadala, plans to see Archer's flying taxis in operation by 2026, with initial routes connecting Dubai airport to Palm development and Abu Dhabi airport to the city-center Corniche. Archer also sees potential in the Indian market. The Midnight's design includes a dozen propellers for safety and gliding capabilities in emergencies. The aircraft has a quick recharge time and a maximum range of approximately 160 kilometers.
