Iranian foreign minister denies Iran’s involvement in Red Sea drone attack

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian denied Iran's involvement in a drone attack in the Red Sea that targeted a U.S. missile destroyer. The drone, originating from Yemen, was shot down by the USS Thomas Hudner. The Pentagon has not identified who fired the drone. The incident occurred after Iranian-backed Houthis militants in Yemen vowed to attack ships in the Red Sea. Iran supports Hamas, and the U.S. believes this makes Iran complicit in the recent attacks on Israel. The U.S. has conducted strikes on Iran-linked weapons storage facilities in Syria in retaliation for attacks on U.S. forces.
