Tunisia: Endangered sea turtles get second life

A sea turtle rehabilitation center in Tunisia is providing a second chance for endangered loggerhead Turtles. The center, part of the European "Life Med Turtles" program, is the only facility in North Africa dedicated to caring for injured loggerhead turtles. The turtles are often caught in fishing nets and face threats from pollution, overfishing, and climate change. The center not only treats injured turtles but also tracks their migratory movements and raises awareness among local populations about the importance of protecting the turtles and their ecosystem. So far, nearly 80 turtles have been treated and released back into the sea.
