What NRL must do next after landmark Women’s Origin revamp

The NRL Women's State of Origin series will expand to a three-game series in 2024, mirroring the men's competition. The decision comes after frustration from NSW players who lost the shield to Queensland on aggregate this year. However, there is still a key difference as the women's Origin campaign will take place before the NRLW season, while the men's Origin is played in-season. Players hope to eventually move the women's Origin to mid-season for better preparation and quality of play. Both players agree that the expansion will make for a better spectacle and improve the women's rugby league calendar.
