1 believed dead, police vehicles burned in large-scale RCMP operation in B.C. near U.S. border

One person is believed to be dead after a fire broke out during a large-scale police operation near the U.S. border in Langley, B.C. The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. is now investigating the incident, which left two Police Vehicles heavily damaged by fire. Police responded to a report of a "distraught" individual and heard gunshots upon arrival. The individual barricaded themselves inside a building, but a fire erupted and engulfed the building. As of now, no body has been recovered, and search efforts will continue. The incident occurred in an area with farms and wineries, and no one else was injured.
