Thousands march in Cape Town in solidarity with Palestinians

Tens of thousands of South Africans marched in Cape Town in solidarity with Palestinians living in Gaza, demanding the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador. Led by clergy from different faiths, the marchers chanted "free Palestine" and called for the Israeli embassy to be shut down. Palestinian officials claim over 11,000 people have been killed in Gaza, 40% of them children, during Israel's war. The South African government has announced it will recall all its diplomats from Israel to show concern over the situation. South Africa has seen numerous pro-Palestinian demonstrations, as well as pro-Israel demonstrations.
