Rajnath Singh Hands over World War-Era US Army Uniform, Plane Parts Found in Assam to Austin

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has handed over remains of aircraft, parachutes, and US army uniforms of soldiers missing in Assam during World War II to US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. Approximately 400 US air force personnel went missing in India during the war, and their remains are being recovered as part of the US Defence Prisoner of War/Missing in Action (DPAA POW/MIA) Accounting Agency Mission. The National Forensic Sciences University in India has partnered with the US Department of Defense to identify the remains, and so far, six personnel have been identified.
