School Hosts Students on Opposite Ends of Violent Conflict–Teaching Reconciliation Over Revenge

The Swallow Citadel of Peace, located in Tuscany, Italy, is a unique School that brings together students from opposite sides of violent conflicts. The school aims to create a generation of interfaith peacebuilders by deconstructing the reasons behind hatred and conflict. Students live with their "enemies" and study interfaith dialogue, conflict management, and leadership skills. After graduation, they are required to return to their home countries and lead peacebuilding and reconciliation programs. The school, called Rondine, has seen success with graduates holding events and camps focused on reconciliation. The school continues to bring together students from various conflicts, including Armenians and Azerbaijanis, Russians and Ukrainians, and Palestinians and Israelis.
