A Woman Worker and her three-year-old son died in a fire at a godown in Bhiwandi, Thane district. The fire broke out in a godown storing cotton and the bodies of Shakuntala Ravi Rajbhar and her son Prince Ravi Rajbhar were recovered. The woman initially ran out of the building but went back in to save her child and got trapped. The fire was brought under control by the Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation's disaster management cell. The lack of fire-fighting facilities in godowns in Bhiwandi will be raised with the district collector.
