The Manipur High Court has ordered the state government to lift the Mobile internet ban in peaceful areas. The court directed the government to trial mobile towers in district headquarters unaffected by ethnic strife and upload all orders related to the suspension of mobile internet services on its official website. The ban on mobile internet has been in place since May 3 due to ethnic clashes between the Meitei community and the Kukis. The clashes have resulted in over 180 deaths, and the ban was extended to prevent the spread of hate speeches and violence through social media.
