The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has formed a monitoring committee to oversee the implementation of its Winter Action Plan to reduce Air Pollution. The committee will ensure measures are taken to curb open burning, illegal construction and demolition waste dumping, and dust on roads. The MCD has also identified 13 hotspots with the highest air pollution levels. A ban has been imposed on illegal dumping and burning, with fines ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 10 lakh for violations. The MCD has allocated funds to each of its 12 zones to support pollution control efforts.
