What to expect in Connecticut’s mayoral elections

Connecticut voters will elect mayors in Tuesday's off-year general Election, including in Bridgeport where a redo of the Democratic primary has been ordered. Incumbent Mayor Joe Ganim won the original primary by a narrow margin, but challenger John Gomes sued for a new primary after evidence of possible illegal ballot box stuffing emerged. The new primary date has not been set, but the general election will proceed as planned. The Associated Press will not declare a winner until legal challenges have been resolved. Other notable mayoral races will take place in Hartford and New Haven.
