GM is expected to invest $13 billion in U.S. facilities under new UAW deal

General Motors (GM) plans to Invest approximately $13 billion in U.S. facilities by April 2028, according to a tentative agreement with the United Auto Workers (UAW) union. The investments include $4 billion in a Detroit assembly plant and $2 billion in a Tennessee facility for electric vehicles. The agreement also includes 25% pay increases, bonuses, and enhanced benefits for autoworkers, as well as the elimination of different tiers of workers. The deal must still be ratified by the UAW's members. The UAW plans to leverage these record contracts to unionize other automakers.
