Mukesh Kumar Singh, a migrant laborer from Uttar Pradesh, was Killed by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. He had left five months ago with a promise to return on Karva Chauth, and he did, but in a coffin. His wife, Kushma Kumar, and their four children are in shock and devastated. Mukesh's dream of seeing his daughter Nisha get married remains unfulfilled. The villagers are mourning his death and finding it hard to believe that he was killed for no reason. His body was brought back to his village and cremated.
