After making deals with Ford and Stellantis, UAW escalates strike against lone holdout GM

The United Auto Workers (UAW) union has escalated its Strike against General Motors (GM) after reaching a tentative contract agreement with Stellantis, the maker of Jeep vehicles. The strike now includes GM's largest plant in North America, located in Spring Hill, Tennessee. The UAW did not provide an immediate explanation for the expanded strike. The union aims to wrap up negotiations with all three automakers, including Ford, to prevent workers from voting down tentative agreements. The Stellantis deal, similar to the one with Ford, includes wage increases and job-saving measures. GM expressed disappointment with the additional strike at the Spring Hill plant.
