Canadian labor union Unifor has begun strikes at all Stellantis facilities in the country, with over 8,200 members walking out after failing to reach a labor contract agreement. The union is demanding better wages and pensions, as well as support for workers in the transition to electric vehicles at Stellantis' Brampton Assembly Plant. Stellantis expressed disappointment with the strike and pledged to continue bargaining. Unifor has already reached ratified deals with Ford and General Motors using a "pattern bargaining" approach. The union is also addressing specific issues with Stellantis, such as pension options and protections against outsourcing.
