Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is visiting Washington to pave the way for a meeting between President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping in San Francisco next month. This is the first visit by a Chinese foreign minister to the US since before the COVID-19 pandemic. The visit comes after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's visit to Beijing earlier this year to improve US-China relations. Wang will meet with Blinken and have dinner with him, as well as meet with President Biden and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.
