ULA aims to launch Astrobotic lunar lander on Christmas Eve

Astrobotic's lunar lander is set to Launch on United Launch Alliance's Vulcan Centaur rocket on Christmas Eve, according to ULA CEO Tory Bruno. The rocket will carry Astrobotic's Peregrine robotic lander and a payload from Celestis. If the launch fails in December, there is a backup window in January. The Peregrine lander is part of a $79.5 million NASA contract and will deliver scientific payloads to the moon's northern part. The launch has been delayed due to technical issues with the Vulcan rocket, but ULA aims to increase its launch cadence to one every two weeks by mid-2025.
