Heavy Rainfall in Kerala’s Idukki; Water Released from a Couple of Dams

Heavy Rainfall in Kerala's Idukki district has led to the release of water from two minor dams. The Pampla dam will release 500 cumex of water, while two shutters of the Kallar dam will be raised by 10 centimeters each. The decision was made due to Heavy Rainfall in the catchment areas and the rise in water storage levels. People living along the Periyar, Kallar, and Chinnar rivers have been advised to be cautious and follow safety directions. The Indian Meteorological Department had issued a yellow alert for Idukki and three other districts. No injuries or damage to houses have been reported from landslides caused by the heavy rains.
