When Builders in Maui Came Together to Help Build Tiny Homes for Man’s Family, it Grew into Growdfunded Rehousing Project

William Fincher, who lost his restaurants and home in a fire in Lahaina, Maui, is receiving help from neighbors and friends to build two Tiny Homes for his family. Local builder Juan Ricci and volunteers are providing free labor and instruction for the construction. A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for the project, which aims to build small, long-term homes for displaced residents and provide jobs for locals who lost their employment in the fires. The project has raised $13,000 of its $100,000 goal so far.
