A recent study published in the journal Nature Communications revealed that the global Climate Crisis has resulted in daily damages amounting to $391 million over the past two decades. The study found that extreme events such as wildfires, heatwaves, and droughts caused by climate change have incurred costs averaging over $100 billion per year from 2000 to 2019. The majority of these costs, 63%, were attributed to human loss of life, while the rest were due to property destruction and other asset losses. The study also highlighted the underestimation of the true costs of climate change and called for increased adaptation policies.
