Two years after pausing service, Roblox China cuts a small number of staff

Roblox China, a joint venture with Tencent, has laid off a small number of staff in the US and China. The company has been quiet about its operations since it abruptly halted service nearly two years ago. The layoffs were made after an evaluation of the operational structure and are specific to Roblox China's unique business needs. The company did not disclose the roles that were cut. Despite the layoffs, Roblox remains committed to its long-term vision for the LuoBu platform in China. Blizzard Activision also faced challenges in the Chinese gaming market and is looking for a new publishing partner.
