Bolivian Officials Seek 30-year Prison Sentence for Former President Anez

Bolivia's attorney general's office is seeking a 30-year Prison Sentence for former president Jeanine Anez. She is being tried for genocide over deaths that occurred during protests following the country's 2019 elections. More than 30 people, mostly supporters of former president Evo Morales, were killed during the unrest. Anez assumed power after Morales resigned amid accusations of election fraud, but she was later succeeded by current President Luis Arce. Anez was previously found guilty of orchestrating a coup and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
