Norma makes landfall in Mexico as Category 1 hurricane

Hurricane Norma made landfall in Mexico as a Category 1 Hurricane with winds of 80 mph. It is expected to continue weakening as it moves into the Gulf of California. Hurricane Tammy is near Antigua and threatens the Lesser Antilles. The hotels in Los Cabos remain about three-quarters full and tourists have not made any major moves to leave. The airports are closed and there are about 40,000 tourists still in the area. The hurricane is expected to bring heavy rainfall and flooding to the region.
