Herbal Extract May Improve Mild Dementia Using Ginseng, Ginkgo Biloba, and Crocus Sativus – Study

Scientists conducted a clinical trial on an herbal extract called Sailuotong (SLT) which contains extracts of Panax ginseng, Ginkgo biloba, and Crocus Sativus L. The trial involved 78 participants with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and found that SLT improved memory and executive function tasks in just 12 weeks. The researchers believe SLT could potentially delay the onset of dementia. Previous studies have shown the safety and cognitive benefits of SLT in vascular dementia and healthy adults. Further research is needed to determine the long-term benefits and impact on daily functioning.
