Junta razes village in northern Myanmar, opens fire on residents

In northern Myanmar, troops from the junta raided a village in Sagaing region, burning houses to the ground. After the troops left, two landmines planted by the soldiers exploded when residents were cleaning up the remains of their houses, killing one person and injuring eight. The troops then returned to shell the area, causing further injuries. This attack is part of a larger pattern of brutal attacks by the military in Sagaing region, leading to thousands of people fleeing their homes. Nationwide, junta convoys have killed eight civilians and injured 41 with airstrikes and heavy artillery since October 1.
