Hurricane Norma heads for Mexican resorts, as Tammy becomes hurricane in the Atlantic

Hurricane Norma is heading towards the resorts of Los Cabos in Mexico, while Hurricane Tammy has formed in the Atlantic. Norma has weakened slightly but remains a major storm with winds of 110 mph. The government has deployed 500 Marines to assist with storm preparations and up to 39 emergency shelters may be opened. The local port has been closed and a hurricane warning has been issued for the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula. Meanwhile, Tammy is a hurricane with winds of 75 mph and is expected to pass through the Leeward Islands.
