Canada Withdraws 41 Diplomats from India Amid Row Over Hardeep Nijjar Killing

Canada has withdrawn 41 diplomats from India following a diplomatic dispute over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused the Indian government of being linked to Nijjar's killing, which India has denied. As a result, both countries expelled diplomats. India also temporarily stopped processing visa applications in Canada and requested parity in diplomatic staff. Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister, Melanie Joly, stated that India plans to revoke diplomatic immunity for all but 21 of Canada's diplomats and their families. Despite this, Canada intends to continue engaging with India.
