Indian space tech startup Agnikul has raised $26.7 million in funding to develop its customizable satellite rocket for commercial space launches. The startup aims to fill the gap in the market for small satellite launch vehicles, which is currently in high demand. Agnikul uses additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, to produce its rockets, offering a faster production timeline and tailor-made launches. The company plans to complement the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) by handling launches in the less than 300 kg payloads segment. Agnikul expects to conduct its first test flight before the end of 2023.
