Louvre Museum in Paris evacuated after a threat

The Louvre Museum and Versailles Palace in Paris were evacuated due to bomb threats following a fatal school stabbing by a suspected extremist. No incidents or injuries were reported. The French government raised the threat alert level and deployed 7,000 troops for increased security. The Louvre, which welcomes thousands of visitors daily, had previously experienced incidents such as a climate protest where the Mona Lisa was smeared with cream cake, and a man attempting to enter the museum with backpacks and a machete was shot by a soldier in 2017.
