Electric vehicles in N.W.T. boosted with funding and fast chargers

The government of the Northwest Territories (N.W.T.) has announced a $3.6 million investment to build a network of Charging Stations for electric vehicles (EVs) in the region. The funding, with half coming from the federal government, will be used to construct charging stations in several communities along the Yellowknife to Alberta border corridor. The N.W.T. hopes to have the corridor operational by December 2024. The network will include level 3 charging stations that can fully charge an EV in 30 minutes. The initiative is part of the territory's plan to reduce human-caused emissions by 30% by 2030.
