At least nine people were Killed in a Fire at a firecracker unit in Ariyalur, India. Chief Minister M K Stalin expressed condolences and announced cash relief for the victims' families. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Five injured individuals were taken to the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital for treatment. The Chief Minister has assigned cabinet members to oversee rescue and relief efforts.
