In Maharashtra, 40 Kids Under Age of 1 Die Every Day; Docs Says ‘Pregnant Women Shouldn’t Miss Meds’

According to a report in the Times of India, approximately 40 children under the age of one die every day in Maharashtra, India. Two-thirds of these deaths are of infants less than a month old. The leading causes of neonatal death are prematurity, low birth weight, and respiratory distress. Doctors have highlighted the importance of Pregnant Women not missing out on essential medications and nutrients to prevent premature births. However, a state health official noted that some causes, such as congenital abnormalities, cannot be controlled.
