Health care workers kick off 3-day strike in multiple states

Tens of thousands of Kaiser Permanente workers across multiple states went on a three-day strike, demanding better pay and working conditions. The Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions, representing 85,000 employees, approved the strike in California, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington for three days, and in Virginia and Washington, D.C. for one day. The strike could potentially cause delays at Kaiser Permanente hospitals and clinics, which serve nearly 13 million Americans. The striking workers, including nurses and technicians, argue that understaffing is impacting patient care and that executives have not negotiated in good faith. Kaiser Permanente said its hospitals will remain open during the strike.
