Teen bullied over facial growth waiting months for removal

A 13-year-old boy in Tauranga, New Zealand, is facing a wait of up to eight months for treatment to remove a bleeding tumour on his lip. The boy's stepfather said he was being Bullied at school because of the lesion and was suffering emotionally. After being referred to the paediatric department at Tauranga Hospital, the family heard nothing for three months and were then told it could be another four to eight months for treatment. Frustrated, the stepfather contacted the hospital's complaints department and eventually received an appointment with a specialist, who confirmed the wait could be up to eight months.
