A two-foot-long baby crocodile was discovered in a swimming pool owned by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Dadar, Mumbai. There have been previous incidents of reptiles from a nearby private zoo entering the pool premises. The crocodile was rescued and handed over to the forest department to be released into its natural habitat. An investigation is underway to determine how the crocodile ended up in the pool. The swimming pool shares a border with the private zoo, and there is no wall on that side. BMC officials have not commented on the claim.
