Heavy Rains Cause Floods, Closure of Schools in Parts of Kerala

Heavy rains in Kerala have caused flooding in various parts of the state and led to the closure of schools. Educational institutions in Kottayam, Vaikom, Changanassery, Cherthala, and Chengannur have declared holidays due to the flooding. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha districts, predicting Heavy rainfall. No major casualties have been reported so far, but incidents of uprooted trees, waterlogging, and collapsed walls have been reported. The Disaster Management Authority has advised people in high ranges to remain vigilant.
