Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar believes that the caste survey conducted by his government will encourage a nationwide census of all social groups. The survey's findings, released on Monday, showed that OBCs, SCs, and STs make up 84% of Bihar's population. Kumar will hold a meeting on Tuesday to present the survey's findings to representatives of all nine parties in the state legislature. He hopes to use the survey to inform policies targeted at castes in need of assistance. Kumar also criticized the Modi government for not recognizing extremely backward classes as a separate category.
