Kashi Is Cultural Capital Of India, Says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared Varanasi, also known as Kashi, as the Cultural Capital of India. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsav-2023, he emphasized the city's rich musical and artistic heritage. Modi inaugurated 16 Atal Awasiya Vidyalayas in Uttar Pradesh and highlighted the city's contribution to classical music, mentioning instruments such as Tabla, Shehnai, Sitar, Sarangi, and Veena. He also acknowledged the city's preservation of musical styles and the Guru-Shishya tradition. The prime minister expressed gratitude for the opportunity to interact with renowned musicians from Varanasi.
