Rohingyas face prison-like conditions in Bangladesh camps: report

A study released by the Youth Congress Rohingya (YCR) has found that Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh face prison-like conditions, with movement restrictions enforced by the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) and physical and sexual abuse. The study, based on 241 surveys and 58 interviews, revealed that 72% of respondents blamed the Bangladesh government for intentionally implementing restrictions to force Rohingya to relocate to the Bhashan Char Island Camp. The report also highlighted widespread corruption and extortion in the camps, with recommendations for the government, international community, and humanitarian organizations to address the issues faced by the Rohingya.
