Eleven volunteer doctors have been working tirelessly in the difficult-to-access mountainous area of Ineghede, southwest Morocco, following the Al-Haouz earthquake. The Moroccan Health and Social security ministry has mobilized over 2,000 doctors and nurses, along with 300 tonnes of medicines, to help the regions affected by the earthquake. The doctors have been treating a range of ailments, including trauma, wounds, and chronic illnesses. Moroccan authorities have reported 2,946 deaths and thousands of injuries. The launch of an aid programme has been announced to support and rehouse the residents of 50,000 damaged buildings.
