Fuel prices hit all-time high in Kenya

The cost of fuel in Kenya has reached a record high, with a litre of petrol now priced at over 200 Kenyan shillings ($1.36). This is adding to the economic difficulties faced by Kenyans, who are already struggling with rising prices of staple goods, new taxes, and a weakening currency. The increase in Fuel Prices has also led to an increase in fares for matatus, the minibuses used for transportation by a majority of Kenyans. The government has partially blamed the rise in global crude prices on the reduction in oil output by Saudi Arabia and Russia.
